Another Strike For Green Spring Valley PSD
Green Spring Valley Public Service District is just about as inept at keeping up on their record keeping as they are at providing water consistently to their customers. For the second year in a row, the West Virginia Public Service Commission has launched an investigation into the local PSD's failure to file their Annual Report.
I would think that two secretaries could certainly handle compiling the information for that one especially since Mark Puffinburger, Roger Whisner and Gary Bradfield find it necessary to have two secretaries where only one part time office assistant is needed. Fort Ashby PSD only has one part time secretary, and they serve more customers than ours does. Apparently the board in Green Spring finds it more appropriate to hire unneeded help rather than pay it's bills. The stack of unpaid bills each month by far outnumbers the paid stack, but payroll is met consistently.
Speaking of paid bills, I wonder if Mr. Puffinburger receives his rent check each month from the PSD? I'm sure he does and most certain it is on time.
Speaking of Mr. Puffinburger, why does he find it acceptable to adjust water bills for his friends who fill their swimming pools or leave the water run wide open so the pipes won't freeze and refuse to adjust a customer's bill because they were out of water for 15 days in a month?
It's house cleaning time in Green Spring. The best thing that could happen to the PSD is for the county or state to take it over, get rid of the two secretaries and simply hire one that can actually do the job, and get rid of those board members!

Have you ever asked your operator at Green Spring PSD why you were without water for 15 days? You see, when you have a lot of water leaks that you do not fix, it catches up with you. You can't keep your tanks full, thus leaving people without water. By the way, they only have one full time secretary, the other fills in when the full time secretary is gone.
i've been reading and hering this stuff about green spring valley psd for years now, my question for you winning, whimpering littel children is if you can do better, why don't you get off your butts and do something about these problems.
i've seen the operator out at all ours of the day and night trying to keep water too everyone he was able to.while everyone else was home were it was warm and dry.the operator does not get payed as much as a lot of people think. he has not had a vacation sence he's been working for green spring valley psd.
justme stated in there blog there is a full time secretary and one part time, that fills in when the other is off, where is the part time operator so the full time operator can have time off ? from what i've seen the seretary does not put in the hours the operator has to, matter of fact she does not put in the hours she is supose to, there office is to be open at 8:00am, she is in after 8:00am every day.
in my opinoin this looks like discrimmination tward the operator.
At no time did I mention discrimination toward the operator. In fact, I believe the operator does the best job he can and most of the time goes beyond the call of duty.
The problem lies with the board. I have spoken to several involved with the PSD in one capacity or another. The operator goes to the board and tells them what needs to be done. The board either doesn't find it necessary or finds a cheaper alternative providing a temporary fix to the problems. This leaves the operator's hands tied.
As for the secretary, they need to have one secretary who can handle the job. It's only five days a week. Doom's comment about the secretary not showing up at 8:00a.m. is correct, but I'm sure her paycheck reflects she was indeed there at 8:00. Seems she's having as much trouble getting to work on time as she is answering the telephone. You can call continuously and get no answer unless the operator happens to be in the office. When the secretary looks at the caller ID and states aloud she is not going to answer it because they person calling is just going to complain, it's time to replace her.
