HHS Basketball Star Looses Jewelry

One of the Trojans' star basketball players has recently lost a bracelet. The bracelet in question was given to the player for his home incarceration. This was the only punishment for his serious offense since he had to be released from the juvenile detention center in order to play basketball. Now the embarassing bracelet is gone.

It angers me to think that those on the board of education will tell us they do not approve of drugs in our schools, but they allow someone guilty of a drug charge to play athletics for the school. Almost seems as if they're promoting drugs by rewarding offenders by allowing them to participate in high school athletics.

I can assure you that if this student were in the FFA program and in the same situation, he would not only be thrown off any teams, but expelled from the program. This, folks, is what should happen to his participation in the athletic programs. It's a disgrace to the school and the county to have him represent Hampshire High in any way. Not only is it a disgrace, it's a kick in the teeth to the kids who work hard, make good grades, and keep their noses clean to be in the athletic program.

This upsets me extremely, you don't even know Joe. You sit back in your little chair on your fat ass talking shit on people who have done no harm too you. You don't know these people, so what people make mistakes. This is the second blog about the Corbin family, I assume you THINK you kno them. Well if you did you wouldn't post this nonsense. Joe is a good kid, so what he messed up? I don't think that should be any of your concern. People make mistakes, and he has learned from it. You are worthless, and must not have much of a life to say such rude things. Karma is a bitch sweetie :) watch out.

I'm a 1989 graduate of Hampshire High. I agree this is a disgrace. I remember about 1984 when I was a member of the Capon Bridge football tean and a player sold some weed to the Musselmen team, he was kicked off the team and out of school for the remainder of the year. I don't know this kid but in real life you do the crime you should do the time. What does this tech him?

He might not be a bad kid and maybe this was a mistake and he has learned his lesson but that does not mean that he does not deserve punishment. I do know him and the "Corbin" family well enough though to know that there was only one lesson learned, next time don't get caught. Just another great example of our famous judicial system at work.

My stepson told me this boy has not been in school for a while now and did not play in the last few basketball games. Perhaps he's in trouble again. When I find out, I'll let you know.

It is so sad that this young man has gotten so far with just a slap on the wrist. Who are you trying to fool by saying he has learned from his mistakes? He was recently seen at a party drinking it up with all of his underaged friends. Who doesn't know the Corbin family in this town. Can you name just one from this specific family that has not been in jail? It's hard to change your life when you have parents that allow them to continuously drink and do the drugs. Look at their mother and all the trouble she has been in and is constantly getting off with a slap on the wrist. Of coarse these young men are going to do what they are doing. I would guarantee if any of them were drug tested WITHOUT warning, not one would pass. Back to the school system, who in their right mind would have allowed this young man to remain on any athletic team. Even after he spent his time away from here, I'm sure he will be allowed to play again this year.
